Shamelessness and Blessedness

You can’t go back and make things different. You’re not the same person and you’re not going to be. You cannot relive your first marriage, your former career, or your early childhood.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

God’s Word reveals who you are, living and life-changing that requires response.

Meditate on these passages and affirm by faith your intention of living a renewed life:

Forgive what others have done to you.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:32 NIV).

God does not forgive you because you forgive others, but solely because of His great mercy. Christ paid the penalty for your sins.

Forgive yourself for what you’ve done.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 NIV).

Confession is to free your conscience, lighten your cares and enjoy your fellowship with Christ. Your relationship with Christ is secure.

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead” (Philippians 3:13 NIV).

Like Paul, you should not let anything take your eyes off your goal—knowing, loving and serving Christ. His forgiveness removes the tension between what you have been and what you want to be. Fuller and meaningful life followed.

Believe that God has truly forgiven you and act on it.

I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more (Isaiah 43:25 NIV).

Like God’s forgiveness to Israel He forgives you and totally forgets them.

Sometimes you hold on to your past because you believe there’s something there you think you still need. You fear you’ll never be able to replace them.

There’s more ahead of you than behind you. God promises, “Beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3 NKJV).

Can you not claim your shamelessness and blessedness by faith in Jesus with the Holy Spirit’s empowering on you?

Our gracious loving Father I worship and praise You for all the wonders of your love, forgiveness and blessings of peace and restoration. I claim by faith in Jesus Christ with Your Holy Spirit’s empowerment on me that I am free from shame and guilt as an overcomer because of Christ in me, the hope of glory. In His holy and powerful name I declare my shamelessness and blessedness by faith in every area of my life for His glory and honor. Amen.
