Image Bearer

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV).

“Lilian you will carry your sister’s slipper when both of you grow up,” my maternal Auntie’s usual comments. I grew up with an idea that I was less attractive and intellectually behind with my younger sister.

My wounded heart and mind (soul) carried the inability to cope being compared to my beautiful sister by relatives and friends.

Dad responded, “Hey all my daughters are beautiful and has special abilities from God. There is no comparison.”

In the world image is based on possessions, achievements, physical attractiveness, or public acclaim. I was a sore loser.

After three decades, when truth hits me that I am God’s masterpiece and His works of art my freedom from low self image followed. I dare not treat myself or others with disrespect or as inferior.

Now I believe that I am loved by my Father God and by faith in Jesus Christ with His Holy Spirit’s empowering, I am accepted and healed from poor self image. By faith I can reach my full potential and influence others to love Jesus as their Savior, Lord and Lover of soul.

May you receive the love and full acceptance of our Father God by faith in Jesus Christ. God bless you and your loved ones. Share your comments and pray with me at http://www.lilianhosfeld.com.
