God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
Have you recalled a time when you start blaming yourself for repeating the same mistakes? I do.
When you and me trust in Christ by faith, we make an exchange–our sin for His righteousness. Our sin was poured into Christ at His crucifixion. His righteousness is poured unto us at our conversion (when we repent of our sin, accept and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ).
In the world, bartering works only when two people exchange goods of relatively equal value. But God offers to trade his righteousness for our sin–something of immeasurable worth for something completely worthless.
I am grateful for God’s kindness to me that leads to my righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ. What about you?
