And He has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. 1 John 4:21 NIV
“You are not helping me,” a male Veteran was yelling against the receptionist at the Veteran’s Hospital Clinic that Monday morning.
The receptionist with tears said, “I am looking for your file. I am not ignoring you!”
Then several male staff of the clinic calmed and assured the aggravated patient.
On the way out of the clinic where my husband waited, I glanced at the sobbing lady, gestured my folded hands in prayer, then I pointed my right point finger towards heaven.
The lady smiled and said soundless, “Thank you.”
When me and my precious hubby arrived home from the Veteran’s Clinic. I went to our backyard holding the leases of our three dogs to get ready for our prayer walking. I glanced and saw our neighbor, Matilda, looking at me point blank.
I approached her and asked, “Hello. How are you doing?”
She came closer and cried, “Lilian, I felt so bad. My husband crashed his truck and it was done (broken English).”
“What do you mean?”
He drive the pick up truck and crashed it because he was drunk. Never drink long time but last week he drink and drink, then drive the new pick up, crashed and left the place. The police called today. He went to see the police office and never answer my calls and texts. Is he in prison? (broken English)
I don’t know. I listened for an hour. We cried with holding hands on top of the fence offered our prayers, “Gracious loving Father, we praise and honor You by faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus as the one who can help Bernard while talking to the police. Guide him with Your love and empower him to overcome the desire to drink alcohol. We pray for Your continues blessings to Matilda, Bernard and their son. In Jesus holy and powerful name we pray and thank you for answering our prayers. Amen.”
Matilda hugged and thanked me.
God’s love is the source of all human love, and spreads like fire. You and I cannot truly love God while neglecting to love those who are created in His image around us. Just look around and be ready to share His love in whatever way you can.
